Big Finish finally released the new Sapphire and Steel adventure Zero, I highly reccomend it if you all haven't heard it already.

-------------------------

Welcome! I'm =thecosmicdancer, the creator and moderator for this club. I'm very excited at the fact that I finally got the time to get this club off the ground, and very excited at the prospect of gaining interest in the series Sapphire and Steel.

What's Sapphire and Steel you ask?

Sapphire and Steel is a science fiction (if you can call it that) televison show that aired in Britain in the late 70's and early 80's on ATV starring Joanna Lumley (of the New Avengers fame and of course Absolutely Fabulous) and David McCallum (The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Navy NCIS). They are Operators that investigate and solve Time breakouts before they cause damage. They are aided by other Operators and Specialists in situations that prove to be out of their control. The other "Elements" (agents) that were seen on the show were Silver and Lead (played by David Collings and Val Pringle). The audio adventures produced by Big Finish continued the series after the televised show ended after the sixth adventure, playing Sapphire and Steel in this round are David Warner and Susannah Harker, and continuing his role as Silver is none other than David Collings.

Daaw. Thanks. And I'm thrilled you're picking up more members. You deserve it.
:iconsapphire-and-steel:
*Blush* It's my pleasure!
Being able to see new members pop up is the best thing I could ask for. I know that the LiveJournal Sapphire and Steel comm is doing well off, but trying to replicate that kind of success on dA is rather difficult for some reason.
Here's hoping for more members and submissions in the near future. I try to pimp these clubs out as much as possible so we'll see ;)
I wish though that my Doctor Who Voc club :iconthe-voc-elite: would gain some members. I mean who doesn't love killer robots? lol
:iconnemo-the-everbeing:
Killer robots is a very good thing. And killer robots vs. Leela is even better. That was one of my favorite Leela episodes. She was well-written, the location was genuinely alien, and all of the crewmembers seemed to be interesting people. Props to the writer, and even more props to the costume and set designers.
:iconsapphire-and-steel:
Indeed, and the writer Chris Boucher wrote an even better sequel "The Corpse Marker" were the Doctor and Leela go back to Kaldor City. She was pretty darn violent in that hahaha
Major kudos for the Art Deco style :D
:iconnemo-the-everbeing:
Was that one of Boucher's BBC books? If so I don't have it (and I have a lot of them). It's quite lovely.

Have you played "Bioshock"? I kept expecting the killer robots to show up. They'd fit right in.
:iconsapphire-and-steel:
I believe so, I have one of the more recent copies. Of all the 113 Who books I have those are my favorite (and of course the Second Doctor adventures).
I haven't but I've heard it's great, I'll have to see it for myself!
:iconnemo-the-everbeing:
Interesting. I'm always looking for good Who books, so I'll have to check it out! And do check out "Bioshock". If you like screwed-up Art Deco, there's no better game.

Yay! New member!!
*Wants Zero badly* I need money. Bah, who needs education when I could be buying Big Finish plays XD

"Accident black spot?" Rubbish! They're throwing themselves in to escape the futility of life!

Bwahahha Yes, indeed!

I know how you feel, I'm up to my nose in school debt, and yet I can't help but buy Big Finish audios! :D
